DIY Pallet Patio Table

Again, after combing through pinterest looking for our next project I stumbled across a PALLET patio table. PERFECT!! We need patio furniture badly, and by badly I mean we had folding chairs and a flat fold down table that we brought out on occasion. I want somewhere to go outside and take a breather, watch the kiddos run through the sprinklers while sipping on a tropical oasis. We had been to several big box stores and almost broke down numerous times to buy a patio dining set for around $400. Yep thats right $400 and that was a mediocre set. Geeeesh, those things are wayyyyyyyyy over priced in my opinion. So upon showing my darling fiance the inspiring picture of a similiar project he set out and found 2 same sized pallets in decent shape, they were the natural wood color, I didn’t take pictures of before :o( next time, because we plan to make another one to fit our seemingly large patio. We made a trip to the local home improvement warehouse store and we bought a 4 x 4 fence post and had them cut the “feet” in between the 2 pallets we cut 8 legs, used 4 on this project and have 4 already cut for the next one.

We also bought a pack of L brackets to securely hold everything in place. Then my beloved assembled and screwed the legs into each side of the pallet and put castor wheels on the bottom so it moves really easily. Once that was done, we began staining it a rich red cherry stain, we did one coat and didn’t care if it looked old and worn, that was the look we were going for. Let it set and dry for a day, and wah-la Instant backyard patio table made by recycling PALLETS!!!

I then decided since we had a few plastic chairs that I would go get some decor throw pillows and there you have it, our new backyard seating area. And I did put it to use today, we had dinner outside while the cool evening breeze whipped through our hair. It was heaven.
